Is the Open File command the only way to link two activities?

I want to have a 'Home' screen for my user with just a couple buttons that will open the activities that they like to use.

It is certainly one way. Fio Quinn has done this in several of her activities. You might check with her. You also create a unit and once one file is done the next will open.

I've been finding that the link that Open File points to can be broken through the process of exporting.

I also ran into troubles when I duplicated the folder (to change and use as a makeshift template) the links brought me to the files in the original folder. I wanted it to look in its relative folder and not to an absolute location.
