I have created the activity Spring, Spring, Spring. The student advances the screens using a page button. I have checked automatic and step scanning on the page button and it won't scan when I go into Dedicated scanning. Any suggestions?

What are you using in Dedicated Scanning? If you are using a switch you do not need to go into dedicated scanning, you just need to make sure your switch is sending the correct keyboard commands which would be - Control - Enter, for single switch scanning.
If you are just plugging your switch into the computer what kind of switch array are you plugging it into?
